Community forensic service Our countywide service provides care and treatment for individuals experiencing mental health issues who also pose a risk to the public. The team are there to help patients who may be subject to restriction orders or require intensive monitoring or supervision. Some have been discharged from prisons or secure hospitals. Community Forensic Service We support adults, who have mental disorder and pose risks to others, in the community. The Forensic Outreach and Liaison Service is a specialist service for people with a mental health condition who pose a serious risk of harm to others.

Forensic mental health services also cover law courts, probation services , and community mental health services. The statewide service is located in Clifton Hill, in close proximity to Thomas Embling Hospital. This service uses the consultation liaison model and works closely with the Adult Ambulatory Correctional Mental Health Service , Court Liaison Service and other Local Health Districts. The Forensic Outreach Service provides aftercare for restricted patients who have been discharged from inpatient secure services , facilitating their transition to the community.


The service also supports local community mental health teams in the assessment, management and treatment of patients perceived to pose risks to others, through consultation and joint working.

The Hertfordshire CFT is a multiprofessional hybrid community forensic service that supports people with mental disorders, living in Hertfordshire, who are at risk of, or who have committe a serious offence, to stay well and safe in the community. Other services from Community Mental Health Services. The North London Forensic Service (NLFS) has provided psychiatric services across the prison estate for over years.


HMP Pentonville has been a cornerstone of that provision during this period and we provide the clinical and operational management of the inpatient, mental health team and day centre services. And we’re now planning to reinvest savings in community forensic teams which will reduce reliance on inpatient services. We, like many other trusts, have found it challenging to meet demand for specialist inpatient mental health services in recent years an in some cases, have had to send some people out of region to get the support they need.


Forensic services Our forensic services are for offenders with mental health conditions, who cannot be managed within the referring service. This is a multidisciplinary service with a total of beds, comprising medium and low secure wards for men, and a medium secure women’s ward. These standards have been developed in consultation with the member services of the Quality Network for Forensic Mental Health Services (QNFMHS), patients, family and friends, and other key stakeholders.
