Acro police check endorser

In order to satisfy ACRO requirements , your application must be endorsed by an individual employed as one of the following or similar professions. Your endorser cannot be your partner or a family member (no matter how distantly related), must have known you for a minimum of two years, and must be eighteen years of age or older. ACRO may contact your endorser to confirm that they have known you for at least two years and we may also send them a copy of the photograph you provide with your application to confirm that you can be recognized from the photograph.

For example, an endorser could be a friend or an employer. However, an endorser cannot be a relative or member of your family. Police checks are not needed for people going abroad on business, or on a short holiday.

DBS can be all done online and verifies your ID via Equifax so was an easier option. The process is like. If the application is not eligible, they will advise you accordingly. As part of the visa application process you will usually be asked to provide a police certificate issued by ACRO.


A police certificate will display any “ unspent ” criminal records (cautions and convictions). If your records are “ spent ” your certificate will state “no live trace”. I am an Indian in the UK.
