The Queensland Government has committed over $4million to support landlords and tenants , both commercial and residential, impacted by the COVID-disaster. It gives legal effect to the National Cabinet Mandatory Code of Conduct – SME Commercial Leasing Principles During COVID-(the National Code ) in Queensland. A raft of new measures aimed at protecting tenants and financially supporting their landlords will be introduced in Queensland , which has become one of the first states to move on rent relief during the COVID-crisis. The mandatory commercial tenancy code sets out how landlords and tenants should share the financial risk and cashflow impact of COVID-19.
